Association between Antibiotic Resistance with Duration of Hospitalisation in Diabetic Foot Ulcer Inpatient at Internal Ward in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital

Introduction: Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) are microvascular and macrovascular complications fromdiabetes has potential pathological risks including infection, ulceration, deep tissue damage andis associated with neurological abnormalities, peripheral arterial disease, metabolic inthe lower extremities. foot injury is an infection of several pathogenic microorganisms that causetissue damage, if the not handled properly then wound will worsen have impact onamputation. Those could be a mono-microbial or poly-microbialinfection those infections multi-drug resistant organisms (MDRO).Objective: To analyse association between antibiotic resistance duration hospitalisation indiabetic ulcer patient at Dr. Soetomo General Hospital.Method: This study cohort retrospective reviews medical records all diabetic patients withdiabetic was admitted into Hospital.Result: In Hospital average 11.48 days. The species thatcaused most under category gram-positive Enterococcus faecalis (7.8%),Staphylococcus aureus (5.2%) Staphylococcus haemolyticus (3.9%). gram-negative ofbacterial species, Proteus mirabilis (10.5%), Acinetobacter baumannii (9.8%) Escherichia coli ESBL(8.5%) Patients had high towards Cephazolin rate 85.5% followed by Ampicillinwith 83.2% Tetracyclin 82.0%. Piperacillin-tazobactam (p-value 0.045) Ceftazidime (p-value0.046) showed hospitalisation. All patientspresented MDRO 35 (29.7%) were poly-microbial infectionConclusion: There forPiperacillin-tazobactam as well 100% presented Multi-drug resistantorganism. Clinicians should refer to periodic report from internal ward on dominant foundand more.
